Whitchurch Primary School Eco Club
Jan 2022 This club was suspended during COVID and Bubbles and is under going structural changes
Eco-club members are elected every year by the students in each class. We work towards spreading awareness for a healthy and eco-friendly school community.
Each year, we decide what to focus on based on the British Eco-schools framework for learning and action. This year we decided to focus on these five main goals:
- Reducing waste as a community
- Dealing with litter in our school community
- Caring for our school grounds, especially plants and wildlife
- Using clean transportation to and from school
- Promoting a healthy lifestyle through exercise and healthy food
Some of the activities we have planned for this year include an Eco-themed Christmas Craft Fair, a Battery Recycling challenge, a Best Eco-Classroom contest, and an Earth Week celebration which will help us learn and spread information about reducing plastics in our environment.
