iMovie

   

iMovie: Get your children filming and editing their own stories. Great for sequencing, story telling. Children as young as KS1 can get to grips with this software and be making their own films really quickly.                                                          
   KeyNote   Keynote  : For making presentation, (like powerpoint). These skills are taught from year 3. Good for making a slide show of your holiday diary & photos to show Granny.
   Pages    Pages: Word processing, leaflet making.

Handwriting and Phonics

   abcJoinedUP    abc joined up : for letter formation – leading to joining up. Use setting to make sure you have the right type of  ‘f’ ‘b’ ‘z’.
  Hairy Letters   Hairy Letter:  Initial letter formation, start with this app to become familiar with shape and formation of letter before going onto joining. Also does some simple segmenting (spelling).
 Phonics Awareness    Phonics awareness:
Mr Thorne Phonics   Mr Thorne Phonics: A collection of videos that introduce phonemes (sounds). Could be used to reinforce homework, or just to join in with Mr Thorne.

 Hand Control

 Dexteria    Dexteria: Good for children who are having fine motor skill issues, finding handwriting tricky. 3 different activites to try. You can record best scores so have something to aim towards.

 Pop Maths    Pop Maths: Number bonds, good for increasing memory recall.
MultiTouch Maths    Multitouch maths : Make numbers using up to 4 fingers at a time. A bit like a Maths version of Twister for your hands!

Times table Lab    Times table lab: Good for improving tables recall speed. Presents in an interesting way.
Garage Band    Garage Band: Recording and composing your own tunes. Used in Music lessons.
