Remote Learning

Remote Learning

At Whitchurch Primary School, we recognise that there may be occasions when a child is unable to attend school in person. In these circumstances, we aim to ensure that learning continues in a way that is supportive, manageable and appropriate for the age and needs of our pupils.

Remote learning is used where necessary to help children keep in touch with their learning and maintain routines. Work provided is closely aligned to what is being taught in class, so that pupils can return to school feeling confident and included. We are mindful that home circumstances vary, and we aim to be flexible and realistic in our expectations.

We work closely with families to support remote learning and to ensure children’s well-being remains a priority. If a child is unable to access learning at home, we encourage parents to contact the school so that we can offer appropriate support.

Remote learning is not intended to replace face-to-face teaching, which we believe is vital for children’s learning, development and well-being. However, when it is needed, we aim to make it as clear, accessible and supportive as possible.
